'Wool Gathering' and 'Am I Old and Stupid' are both I think a shift into a more complex form of storytelling. The strips are obviously personal reflections on aging, memory and time and I found this quote from Murukami recently that encapsualtes beautifully what you are doing in this form: 'All we can do is breathe the air of the period we live in, carry with us the special burdens of the time, and grow up within those confines. That's just how things are.' I love the fact that in these two you have introduced a wider social connection. The self portrait as a reticent mushroom is brilliant!
